Amador Hotel, Las Cruces, New Mexico
The historic Amador Hotel is a special landmark for the city of Las Cruces. Don Martin Amador built a one-story adobe for his family in 1866. Twelve years later the building was converted into the Amador Romming House, and served as a have for teamsters and passengers traveling the freight lines between Chihuahua, Mexico and Santa Fe. Cornerstones is currently conducting a conditions assessment and preservation plan for the Amador Museum Foundation, which seeks to adapt the adobe hostelry to use as a city museum.
